Discography
Below, you can find a selected collection of my personal projects. All of these, unless noted, have been completely created from start to end by myself and myself alone. All writing, performance, editing, engineering, artwork, etc.
This is only a selected collection because, honestly, I’ve put out quite a lot of music over the years. You don’t need all of it. Trust me.
“For Me, it’s always like this”
Released 2024
A continuation or sister album of sorts to BODY HORROR, breaking down the box to evolve from pure ID blasts of anger to seduction, regret, denial, and failure. An attempt to interrogate my ever-losing battles within and with myself. Sonically inspired by Today Is The Day, Augustus Pablo, Fiona Apple, Gilla Band, and more all over the shop sounds.
Notable Solo Works
Body Horror
Released 2023
A vicious, metal-inspired trip through body dysmorphia and gender dysphoria. The soundtrack to breaking the cultural bindings that other you. Meant to sound like the guitars from the Broken EP blasted through the speakers at the Smart Bar at 3am.
These Monsters Will haunt you
Released 2020
A three-act concept record depicting a depression-triggered mental breakdown, and the foggy climb to some semblance of co-existence afterwards. Heavily inspired by ambience, modern classical, musique concrete, and ASMR. The beautiful artwork was done by Mattia Zucchelli.
Wisdom saving throw
released 2021
A 21-track collection containing various bits of sound art & beats made over a three year span. Less of a specific narrative, more of a series of pieces that all enrich each other. Leans heavily into minimal techno, boom-bap hip-hop, experimental collaging, and my “plastic footwork” style.
BBQ FINGAPRINTS
released 2020
A collaboration between Chicago hip-hop legend SHARKULA, DJ Chuck Sunshine, and myself. I contributed all the beats, production, mixing, post-production, and artwork on this thing right here. We knocked out all the recording in a single 2 and a half hour session, and it even got a write up in the Chicago Reader. We’ve got another one in the works, and it’s gonna blow this one away.
(Fun Fact: The styling of SHARKULA’s name on the cover is a direct reference to the s/t Godflesh EP.)
III: extradimensional
released 2019
The conclusion in a trilogy of beat tapes all focused on exploring the concept of extra-dimensional theory from three different viewpoints.
This final one is from the viewpoint of someone being programmed by a cult that abuses practices associated with extra-dimensional theory to farm bodies. Inspired by the Ascensionism ARG that was hidden in the video game Kanye Quest 3030. Cover is an edited photo taken by Kelly Butler.
the magic
Originally released under my Mr. Grimm moniker (now on streaming under my name), this is a 7-track journey through the grimey late 90’s/early 2000’s PC gaming space, complete with lo-fi jungle breakbeats and crazy tempos. I really love this one.
Further Solo Works
“midnight, lose my mind”
A 4-track digital 12” showcasing me honing in on my footwork-inspired style I like to call “plastic footwork” while also acting as tribute to the album Melodrama by Lorde.
Spherical Mirror
A 36-minute megamix of assorted unused bits of music I made throughout the year of 2020.
The Osgood Boxes
(Raw Version)
The stripped down version of a chiptune-inspired megamix I created in 2019 after a late night 8/16-bit gaming session.
204863
A little project I like to call my “abstract radio play”. A mixture of sound design, abstract collage, and found audio combine to create long-form narrative pieces. There is an ongoing story here, but I haven’t explained any of it, because where’s the fun in that?
Track two on this split is Part One of the 204863 story.
This is Part Two of the 204863 story.
Further collab
Work
Hyper Spray
A collaboration between myself and my Static Switch Records labelmate, James Sunderland. We blend our uniquely left-of-center inspirations with our deep adoration for the dance music styles and cultures we grew up in awe of. Dissonance abounds, but so do the grooves. Our logo was made by Dave Dunno, another part of the Static Switch family. All of these releases are rad, but FAKE ASS WERKS is my personal favorite.
broom
A short-lived garage/punk band I played drums and did backing vocals in, along with Christian Keck on guitar/vocals and Alex Lukawski on bass/vocals. An honor of a little project to be included in, especially considering my adoration for Alex’s band Glamour Hotline, one of the only bands in our shared music scene I actually enjoyed. We recorded a 5-track EP but only ever put out this 2-track single due to the band breaking up suddenly.
Originally released in 2018, I redid the mix and the post-production on the single sometime in 2021 because I thought I did a terrible job initially. You’ll find that updated version below. It’s much, much better.
